## Bubble Writer

- The letterform is an operation, not a typeface — an exact signed distance transform of a thin glyph, contoured by marching squares at a true offset distance, then relaxed like a balloon under surface tension and internal pressure
- Credited study of Tracy Ma's bubble-letter animation for Blonded (2019); the placement behaviour was recovered from the published source of the NYT's Gen X Is A Mess (2019). Their letters are hand-drawn, these are generated, and none of their artwork or code is used

## Tessera
- [Open the instrument](https://experiments.supermega.design/tessera/): drop, paste or upload a picture; choose one of five styles (Yellow, Blue, Figure, Rooster, Base) and tune detail, contrast and balance
- Linear marks (column, row, and a joined bar that runs down, across or stands as a square by its neighbours — the maze) and cubic marks (square, checker, diamond, dot, ring, solid); bars of one tone join into long strokes with a gap and round caps
- Each style is fixed to a Base frame as measured — marks per tone, cell shape, weights, colours; cut-outs (transparent PNGs) sit in the frame with only the subject marked; PNG and JPG export
- Credited study of the Base brand image treatment — Mouthwash Studio's Base launch, image tool by John Provencher, after Karel Martens. None of their code or artwork is used
